Sarpong is new GCB Deputy MD, Operations

Accra, March 11, GNA - The Board of Directors of Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) has appointed Mr Samuel Sarpong as the New Deputy Managing Director (DMD) in- charge of operations.

According to a press released issued here, Mr Sarpong, who has since assumed duty, is a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (BSC. Agric), University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada (M.Sc. Agric) and Wilfrid Laurier University, Ontario, Canada (MBA). Mr Sarpong joined the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in 1996 playing senior roles in Credit Management including Director, Lending Products. In his nine years stay with CIBC, he worked in three divisions, Retail and Small business Lending, BizSmart and CIBC Visa.

Until this appointment, Mr Sarpong worked with General Electric Corporation in Canada as Senior Manager and was Risk Leader for Credit Cards, Risk Infrastructure/Fraud and Mortgages.

He replaces Mr Roko Frimpong, who died in June last year.
