The popular route for the company had been suspended over a long period due to non-availability of buses, but new management say, its services are back with a bang with modern and improved services.

The service starts with 12 schedules each day with the first batch of buses moving at an hourly interval. Buses from Accra and Kumasi will be available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day with the exception of Sundays.

Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Nana Akomea, is optimistic that reforms being brought into the company would completely turn around the fortunes of the company and make STC, a transport service of choice.

He said under his administration, he would be concentrating on tightening revenue leakages and controlling expenditure to help put the state transport back on a competitive footing.

The new coaches would have WI-FI services for travellers to afford them a seamless online interaction at no additional charges.

The Chief Executive officer further explained that in spite of the luxury and timely services to be provided its clients, the fares are far below the current prices of its competitors to Kumasi.

“Our clients can enjoy themselves in our new luxurious Scania Marcopolo Buses designed for luxury and comfort and safety for only GHC35.”

With innovations to make access to tickets and reservations hustle free, prospective travellers could pay for their tickets via mobile number 055-555-2485.

Currently, the company has 50 new buses but management says arrangements have been finalised and 30 new coaches from Brazil will to be brought to augment its current fleet by August, this year.

Additionally, the company is expected to benefit from an Exim bank facility that will afford it to purchase 26 more buses from Korea within the same period.

The CEO is optimistic that, “by December, the company should have a complete turnaround”.

He added that plans are far advanced intensity its presence on other major routes across the country while maintaining a lead on its international services.
