SSNIT denies suit against it by board members

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust has denied media reports that some board members are considering suing the Trust over the sale of Merchant Bank.

The board members are Alhaji Asibi Azongo, Kwame Amo Darko, Prince William Ankrah and Theodore Nee Okpey.

A statement issued by SSNIT said personal contacts with the trustees have revealed that they have not attended any meeting to take a decision to sue the Trust.

It is therefore assuring the public that it also met organized labour before issuing the final letter to the Bank of Ghana.

It again assured all stakeholders that it will continue to take decisive, transparent and defensible decisions to sustain the fund and protect the interest of contributors.
