SIC Insurance Company Limited, one of the oldest non-life insurance companies in Ghana with nationwide coverage has been adjudged the overall best insurer for the year 2018 at the maiden edition of the Ghana Insurance Awards.

With the best performing stock on the Ghana Stock Exchange, SIC emerged as the General Insurance Company of the Year beating other competitors in the insurance industry.

The event which was organised by Xodus Communications Limited sought to honour top-class performance, professionalism and innovation across the Ghanaian insurance industry and promote the growth of the industry through progressive competition, innovation and adherence to the highest professional standards.

This brought insurance industry players together to celebrate and network while rewarding achievement and leadership in various key areas.

SIC did not only win the General Insurance Company of the Year award but also bagged four other awards at the just ended 2018 Ghana Insurance Awards held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra.

They took home Brand of the Year, Indigenous Company, Corporate Social Responsibility Leadership and ICT Leadership award.

Speaking to GhanaWeb the Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited, Stephen K. Oduro expressed excitement stressing the company won five awards because of their hard work and commitment towards the job.

According to him, the trust they built over the years is the result of them winning these awards and will continue to deliver excellent services to its clients.

He further indicated that SIC plans on rolling out innovative policies that will benefit their customers and make sure their claims don’t delay for more than a week.

“I feel so good, I mean you get satisfaction from the hard work and what happened tonight didn’t come out of the blue. It came out of hard work and in insurance once you create an environment where they trust you then this is the result you get. So long as the competition is fair, we are not afraid of competition because they keep on mentioning two percent of penetration. That two percent was created by SIC and then others they’ve kept nipping at our hills but irrespective of what they do, we keep on standing. Very soon, you going to see something innovative, I have one notion, no claim should be more than a week”, he stated.
