SIC Insurance appoints first female MD

The Board of Directors of SIC Insurance Company Limited has appointed Mrs. Doris Awo Nkani as the Managing Director with effect from April 30, 2013. She is the first female MD of the nation’s preferred and biggest Insurance Company and brings on board over 29 years of experience in the Industry.

Prior to this appointment, she was the Acting Managing Director of the Company. Mrs. Nkani is a Chartered Insurer and a fellow of the Insurance Institute of Ghana (IIG). She is a Lawyer and has held several top management positions in the insurance industry.

Before her appointment as Deputy Managing Director (Technical) at SIC Insurance, she was the Managing Director of Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, where she helped to re-position the Company in the Insurance Industry.

In a related development, Mr. Kwei Mensah Ashidam has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director (Technical) of SIC Insurance. Before his appointment, he was the Acting General Manager (Technical) and the Head of Re-insurance. He has worked with SIC Insurance since 1984.
