Road Ministry inherits 2000 contracts worth over GHC17.5bn - Minister

The Minister of Roads and Highways Kwasi Amoako Atta says his ministry has inherited about two thousand road contracts worth over 17.5 Billion Ghana Cedis.

This he noted is a huge burden on the Ministry adding that as part of measure to manage the situation the Ministry is embarking on a review and rationalisation of all road contracts to ensure value for money and also put some contracts on hold.

The Minister was speaking on the Floor of Parliament when answering question on whether the construction of the Eastern Corridor Road project is still on course.

On the Eastern Corridor Road project, the Minister noted that the 695Km long project has been packaged into eight Lots.
