The members of the Maritime and Dockworkers’ Union (MDU) in PSC Tema Shipyard wish to dissociate themselves from the publication titled “Don’t sell Tema shipyard-workers plead to Akufo-Addo”.

We wish to explain that there are two unions namely the Maritime and Dockworkers’ Union (MDU) and the newly formed Ports, Seamen, Maritime and Dockers Union (PSMDU) in PSC Tema Shipyard and are sharply divided among themselves in the yard.

The publication we have referred to contains insults and attacks on the Honourable Minister of Transport and the Chief Director of ministry of Transport Hon. Ofori Asiamah and Mr. Selby.

Our worry is that the publication creates the erroneous impression that all workers of PSC Tema Shipyard are associated with the insults and attacks on the Honourable Minister of Transport and the top management of the ministry of transport.

We want to inform the public that PSC Tema Shipyard Local of the Maritime and Dockworkers’ Union (MDU) is not part of the statement that was issued in the name of all the workers of PSC Tema Shipyard.

We the members of MDU are co-operating and always ready to co-operate with government in the efforts to revamp the company.
