The Ghana News Agency (GNA) market survey in Sunynai the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital, showed that prices of fruits had seen slight increase.

According to some traders at the main market in the Central Business District, hikes in petroleum products had contributed to changes in the prices.

They told the GNA in a random interview on Monday that fruits farmers cart their stuff from the hinterlands, and the increase in lorry fares had affected the cost of the fruits.

The GNA gathered that a bunch of banana, which used to sell at GH¢ 20, is going for GH¢ 30, while a small ball of pineapple is going for GH¢ 2, instead of the previous price of GH¢ 1.

A medium-size of the same fruit which used to sell at GH¢ 2 is going for GH¢ 5, while the current price of a box of apple is selling at GH¢ 170 instead of GH¢ 27.

The current market price of a big size of watermelon is now GH¢ 15, as compared to the previous price of GH¢ 5, while the small size which sold at GH¢ 3 is now selling at GH¢ 5.
