Nigerian Tourism practitioner commends Ghana's hospitality industry

Accra, Nov. 4, GNA - Mr. Zee Debekeme, Chairman of the Bayelsa Tourism Practitioners' Association on Saturday commended personnel in Ghana's hospitality service for their warm attitudes towards customers.

'He said: 'When you go to a restaurant or hotel, they make you feel like they know you already. They are always full of smiles and humble.'

Mr. Debekeme speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview said such warm and friendly attitude by hospitality professional lacked in the Nigerian hospitality industry, hence the visit to learn about the tourism industry as a whole and impart to their fellow professionals in Nigeria.

He said, "Bayelsa state is one of the youngest states in Nigeria created 10 years ago and endowed with a lot of tourism potentials which remain untapped."

Mr Debekeme led a three-member delegation to the Ministry of Tourism and Diasporan Relations and met with the industry's practitioners in Ghana to know at first hand Ghana's policy on tourism, hotel operations, among other tourism sectors. The group would tour some important tourist sites as well as meet with various tourism groups to share ideas and learn from their experience.
