NLA strengthens relationship with its retailers

The National Lottery Authority (NLA), in a strategic revenue mobilisation drive and also to encourage its retailers across the country to maximise their sales, has launched a lucrative promotion dubbed Afehyiapa Promo.

The promotion concept was conceived under the administration of the Ag. Director-General of NLA, Brigadier-General Martin Ahiaglo, and was launched in Accra last week, attended by various nationwide retailers.

The promotion involves 1,026 different attractive prizes with six brand-new Hyundai saloon cars that can be won by any retailer at monthly draws, irrespective of where they may come from provided they meet the entry requirements as specified by the promotion guidelines.

Other prizes to be won include deep-freezers, cash, refrigerators, oven gas-cookers and LED-TVs at bi-weekly draws.

Speaking at the launch, Brig-Gen Ahiaglo said the NLA appreciates the immense contribution being made by its retailers across the country under varied constraints, and this promotion package has been carefully designed to recognise their hard work and reward them accordingly.

“NLA has many challenges to contend with, but with perseverance and determination from every staff we will be able to sustain the values of this great institution,” he stressed.

Flanked by the Director (Legal) Mr. George Addo Yobo and other top officials, Brig-Gen Ahiaglo said the sudden shut-down of the SIMNET IT Platform that served NLA in 2011 greatly affected its revenue base; but said, gradually, NLA is recovering from its impact.

He appealed to all those who are involved in banker-to-banker operations to stop forthwith, because his administration will not spare anyone caught. Many of the retailers at the function complained about frequent network failures that affect their sales, which they attributed to the Telecom companies, and urged management to take a critical look at it to ensure productivity.
