Make Ashanti Region Attractive To Investors, Journalists Told

Kumasi, (Ashanti Region) 11 Nov.,

Mrs. Joana Appiah-Dwomoh, Acting Ashanti Regional Minister, has asked Journalists in the region to positively portray the Ashanti Region to make it attractive to foreign investors. ''Let the whole world know that Ashanti is a peaceful place with huge investment potentials''. Mrs. Appiah-Dwomoh was speaking when the newly-elected Executive of the Ashanti branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) paid a courtesy call on her. She urged the Journalists to develop cordial and harmonious working relations with the Regional Co-ordinating Council and other public institutions to ensure effective development of the region. Mr. Nehemia Owusu-Achiaw, Ashanti GJA Chairman and leader of the delegation, expressed the Association's gratitude to the Minister for her advice and said the Association was committed to help build a good image for the region. Mr. Kwabena Sarpong Akosah, Vice-Chairman of the Association, was happy that the RCC was concerned about the image of Ashanti Region saying, ''everything will be done to sell Ashanti positively''. Mr. Samuel Ennin, Secretary of the regional branch, asked organisations to make effective use of their Public Relations outfit pointing out that in this way the organisations could forestall being painted negatively in the Press.
