Accra, Sept. 15, GNA - KFC, the world renowned Quick Service Restauran= t (QSR), opened its first state-of-the-art flagship restaurant in Ghana. Yum! Brands based in Louisville, the holding company for KFC is the world's largest restaurant company in terms of restaurants numbers, with nearly 38,000 restaurants in over 110 countries and territories. The Company's brands - KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, are the global leaders of the chicken, pizza and Mexican-style food categories. Opening the restaurant, Mr Ashok Mohinani Executive Director of Mohinan= i Group, said the company expressed confidence in the growth of the African market and revealed plans to have 1,200 restaurants opened around the continent of Africa by 2014 in addition to efforts to double its revenue on the continent to 2 billion dollars.
He said with the arrival of KFC, customers in Ghana could expect to relish the globally acclaimed original recipe chicken made with the same secret blend of 11 herbs and spices since 1939.
"Currently, KFC is expanding its presence around the world with particular attention to Africa. KFC intends to raise the bar of the QSR industry by consistently offering great tasting products and maintaining high standards of the quality of food and exceptional customer service", he added. Mr Mohinani noted that two additional restaurants were being planned to open in Accra later this year, which would bring the total number of stores to three in the capital city.
YUM! is ranked the number 214 on the Fortune 500 List. The company's brands 96 KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, are the global leaders of the Chicken, Pizza and Mexican-style food categories. Their entry into Ghanaian market endorses the economic, stable and conducive investment environment, the country provides.
Mr Mohinani said the development plan was to open 22 KFC Brand restaurants across Ghana within the next five years, adding 93as we officially launch KFC in Ghana, we are again establishing an industry leading enterprise, which will undoubtedly be attractive to customers and keep them satisfied".
