Young Ghanaian digital entrepreneur Ivy Barley has joined Tech-giant, Microsoft as a Program Manager.

She made the announcement via a post on Twitter on Tuesday, March 10 saying; “Stoked to announce the next stage of my career growth: taking up a Program Manager role at Microsoft! I'm optimistic about the opportunity to make bigger impact at @Microsoft, while taking @devinvogue to the next level. Stay tuned for my journey. #MicrosoftLife #WomenInTech”

The tweet has since received over 500 retweets and numerous congratulatory responses.

Ivy Barley is the co-founder and CEO of Developers in Vogue, an organization helping women embrace the digital technology industry and has since trained and equipped thousands of women in Africa with digital skills.

Her outfit has also provided mentorship and job placement for African women in the field of technology.

As a young STEM enthusiast, Barley began her journey when she self-thought her way through coding and has since become is one of the young female Africans changing the narrative about a male dominated tech industry.

Educational Background Ivy Barley holds an MPhil in Mathematical Statistics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science.

She was listed as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaian in 2017 and has also won a US$10,000 prize as one of the 10 finalists of the Kwese #GoGettaz Competition.

For her outstanding work, Barley has been featured in Women in Tech book edition by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and she has also featured in the Founding Women book by the Africa Technology Business Network.
