Mankoadze Salt Factory To Be Reactivated

Gomoa-Mankoadze (Central Region) 18 Sept. '97

The Mankoadze Salt Industry which was closed down about ten years ago, is being reactivated to offer employment to the people. According to Nana Otsew Adabraku II, Odikro of the town, a number of investors have expressed their desire to establish small- scale industries in the area as from next year, and that ''plans to effect this, have reached an advanced stage.'' Nana Adabraku II, therefore, called on Mankoadze citizens, especially non-residents, to make it a point to attend this year's ''Iyi Oye'' and yam festivals which begin from October three to 10, and contribute to the development of the area. He said a special forum will be organised during the period to educate the people on pressing national issues as well as matters affecting the development of the town. He said a development levy of 2,000 cedis per person has been instituted to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the primary school block in the town and appealed to all citizens to pay up to help renovate the school.
