The President of the Ghana Institute of Journalism Alumni of North America (GIJANA), Dr. Daniel Ato Aidoo has asked members of the association to renew their faith in the things that they hope for so that they can later use them as evidence of the things they thought they would not see.

“As journalists and public relations professionals trained to be independent, strong-willed, and discerning, we need to advance the trajectory of our association, give it more attention, not through bickering and bashing, but through passionate and constructive exchange of ideas for our general good” he emphasized.

Dr. Aidoo gave the admonition in a message he delivered to members of the Association on New Year’s Day, a copy which was sent to New Vision Radio in Worcester, Massachusetts.

“As we enter a new year, let us all reflect on how to energize the base of this great association through our boundless energy and commitment to what really brought us together to define our humanity” he stated.

Dr. Aidoo stated that the leadership of the association maintains that the common usage of conversation, talk, and discussion provide a quality discourse that can help members to translate a frozen formula into a collective interest and inner satisfaction.

He urged members to reconstruct hope and use it as a function of their success while recognizing that they need to work hard towards achieving their dreams and targets which are doable.

Dr. Aidoo reiterated that no individual can carry the burden of an association of thinkers who continue to shape perceptions and the truth. He urged members to bury perceived and real differences and nurture a new path to their progress.

“Let us disagree or agree, guided by the humility and caveat, that we can continue to express our opinions freely devoid of insults, pettiness, and acrimony”, he added.

He urged members to encourage each other through a genuine heart and love for humanity, as they look forward to everybody's input to ensure the growth and development of the association.

Dr. Aidoo explained that the leadership of the association look forward to constructive dialogue to activate the very essence of their responsibilities and membership.

He urged members of the association to improve the organization's finances through innovative ways so that the association can also stretch a benevolent arm to other institutions and organizations in need of assistance.

Dr. Aidoo used the occasion to commend members of the association who have created an animated platform for exchanges and urged them to keep up the good works through a respectful conduit, and appreciating the elasticity of sensitivity and comic.

On behalf of the leadership, Dr. Aidoo asks for God's protection and a spirit-filled New Year for all members.
