Main market in healthy gain

Accra, Jan. 23, GNA- The main market index, the GSE All-Share Index, made a healthy gain on Friday as equities sold crossed the one million mark.

Several stocks made good sales with Aluworks selling 694,500 shares out of the 1,056,800 that changed hands. British American Tobacco sold 105,500 shares and SSB Bank made 181,500 shares.

The All-Share Index went up by 26.27 points to 3,715.72 shares with change for the year climbing to 4.57 per cent.

There were eight price changes with Guinness Ghana Limited making the highest jump of 299 cedis at 8,800 cedis.

British American Tobacco continued its rise with a 100-cedi gain at 6,000 while Ghana Commercial bank also rose by 100 cedis at 8,900 cedis.

Mechanical Lloyd was 32 cedis better 750 cedis, Home Finance Company made 21 cedis at 4,221 cedis, Produce Buying Company gained seven cedis at 1,307 cedis, Unilever closed three cedis better at 14,115 and Cocoa Processing Company inched up by one cedi at 651 cedis. Market capitalisation closed 13,026.70 billion cedis.
