Mahama dissolves Ghana Airports Company board

President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the board of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).

This comes after the Board Chairman, Kuntu Blankson, publicly announced the dismissal of the Managing Director of the company, Mrs. Doreen Owusu-Fianko.

Mrs. Owusu-Fianko, however, in an interview with XYZ News expressed shock at news of her dismissal stating that she had not received any letter to that effect.

Another board member David Annan maintained that the MD of Ghana Airport Company limited, Mrs Doreen Owusu-Fianko remained the Director of the company adding that Mr. Kuntu Blankson was using the Board to execute a personal vendetta against Mrs Owusu-Fianko.

A statement from the Flagstaff House stated that "On the authority of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for Transport, Mrs. Dzifa Attivor, has with immediate effect dissolved the board of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).

"A list of names for the reconstituting of the Board and Management of the Company is currently before the Council of State as required by law and would be announced shortly".
