Mahama charges BoG boss to stabilise cedi

President John Mahama has charged the newly appointed Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Henry Kofi Wampah to work assiduously to maintain stability of the cedi.

He also urged him to work closely with the Minister of Finance in ensuring macroeconomic stability; low inflation rates and reduce interest rates to competitive levels.

President Mahama said this when Dr Wampah, was officially sworn into office at Flagstaff House in Accra.

The ceremony was witnessed by the immediate past Governor, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur and the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Seth Terkper.
