MTN urged to assist expose Western Region

Takoradi, Aug 7, GNA- Mr. Anthony E. Amoah, Western Regional Minister said the presence of MTN in Western Region was ideal for the region since it would be hosting some of the matches of the MTN CAN 2008 football tournament.

He said with the pending football tournament, which is supported by MTN, the region was likely to receive many visitors which could expose its potentials and facilitate investments and business opportunities. Mr. Amoah said these at the launch of the MTN at Takoradi.

He said though the region was endowed with minerals and natural resources, its potentials were still under utilized and needed massive support.

Mr. Amoah therefore charged MTN to make its presence felt in the various sectors of the regions economy.

Mr. Samuel Appiah, Quality Assurance Manager of MTN said his outfit was the new owner of Scancom and was operating in 21 African countries and in the Middle East.

He said MTN hopes to encourage people to realize their dreams, be active in all sectors of the national life and provide a service that meets the needs of customers. Mr. Appiah said MTN was ready to provide services that would meet both local and international standards during the MTN/CAN 2008 tournament.
