Ghana’s largest telecommunication giant, MTN has rewarded two (2) loyal customers with Hyundai i10 vehicles in the ‘Spin the Wheel’ promotion.

At a ceremony at the MTN Headquarters in Accra last Tuesday, Benjamin Owusu and Prince Tweneboah received their Hyundai i10. Isaac Okyere and Kofi Anokye also won a fully paid trip to Dubai.

The MTN ‘Spin the Wheel’ promotion allows prepaid customers who recharge airtime of GHC1.00 and above receive an SMS with a link indicating that there are a number of spin slots earned. Any customer who therefore accesses the link can participate in the promotion by just spinning. Customers can download the Spin App and save it or can send ‘SPIN’ to MTN short code 5040 to spin.

Once a customer spins, the result is confirmed instantly by an SMS. Any customer who participates and does not win a prize upon spinning accrues points for the month. At the end of every month, the points that are accumulated are ranked and the customer with the highest points for the month wins a vehicle.

The second and third winners for the month also wins a holiday trip abroad with their partners.

In his address to the winners, Senior Specialist Segment Marketing MTN Ghana, Maxwell Arthur said the ‘Spin the Wheel’ promotion is to give the customers a reason to be loyal to the MTN brand.

"We are to give our customers rewards beyond the functional benefits. Patronage has been fantastic and successful because our customers win prices everyday" he stated.

According to him, the MTN customers have been receiving two cars since last year because they were able to build points in the ‘Spin the Wheel’ promotion.

He stressed that MTN as a reliable brand “will only send text messages or call the deserving winners with a unique number thus 0244300000” and warned that their customers should be aware of fraudsters.

Jonathan Adjetey Sowah, Emmanuel Senu, Leon Kafando took home two thousand Ghana Cedis each whilst Hilton Robert, Christopher Mensah, Christiana Tamakloe and Raymond Kim took home one thousand Ghana Cedis each.

Other loyal customers won 4G smartphones.

Some of the monthly prices include 4G compatible handsets and cash rewards ranging from GHC500 – GHC2, 000. There are some daily prizes and they include replica jerseys, power banks, MTN T-shirts and data compatible handsets. Prizes won may be claimed at any MTN office of the customer’s choice.
