MTN identifies nine millionth subscriber

Accra, March 25, GNA - MTN Ghana on Friday identified its nine millionth subscriber at the end of a two-week nationwide search. The lucky subscriber with 0246135544 was identified automatically by a specially designed system through a countdown process.

Mr Richard Acheampong, General Manager of Marketing Communications, MTN, at a media briefing after the process in Accra, said the winner would officially be outdoored to the public on TV3's "Music Music" programme on Saturday, March 26. Mr Acheampong indicated that the winner would be awarded a cash investment package worth GH¢9,999.99, a sleek Samsung Galaxy tab, 999.99 MB of data, 999.99 minutes of talk time and 999 SMS every month for nine months.

He said in addition, all existing customers would be given a special celebration package, which would be announced to the public to ensure that everyone in the family enjoyed the great achievement. Mr Acheampong expressed MTN's excitement at achieving this significant milestone, saying the company had consistently led innovation in the market and had since coming to Ghana continuously won subscriber loyalty and confidence through the provision of improved network quality, which was a result of investments in infrastructure to improve voice and data quality.

He also said the introduction of customer friendly innovative products and services such as Pay4Me, Caller Tunez, MTN Play, Phone Book Back up Services, Mobile Money, MTN Zone, Fonmail and a range of 3.5G services. It has also invested in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that had contributed to the increase in subscriber numbers.

He assured subscribers that MTN would continue to use the most advanced technologies in its operations to ensure quality services as well as offer them the most innovative and relevant services to meet their telecommunication needs.
