MTN appoints fifth Ghanaian to top executive position

Accra, Jan. 11, GNA - MTN Ghana has appointed Mrs. Jemima Kotei Wals= h as its new Customer Relations

Executive, a statement in Accra said on Monday. This brings the number of Ghanaians appointed to top executive positions at MTN Ghana to five, including three

females, the statement noted. The Ghanaian top executives at MTN Ghana are Mr. George Kwadwo Andah= , Chief Marketing Officer, Ms

Mawuena Adjo Dumor, Corporate Services Executive, Mr. Ebenezer Asante, Sa= les Executive, Mrs. Ama Benneh

Amponsah, Human Resource Director, and now Mrs. Jemima Kotei Walsh. "Jemima's appointment fulfils the commitment made by the CEO, Mr. Br= ett Goschen, to significantly increase

Ghanaian representation at MTN's executive and managerial levels with tho= se numbers more than doubling since

2007," the statement said. The statement said until Jemima's current appointment she was the Senior Manager for Quality Assurance and

Training/Customer Care Division and Acting Customer Relations Executive. It said in her new role, Jemima would be responsible for directing a= nd executing customer related issues in the

organization at a strategic level. Mrs Walsh, a product of Wesley Girls High School and the University of Ghana Business School, also holds an

MA in Human Resource Development and Consulting from the Management Schoo= l, Lancaster University, United

Kingdom. She was instrumental in fuelling the growth of the company in recent=

years through her contribution to the

implementation of various mechanisms to seek customer feedback and insigh= t. The statement credited Mrs Walsh with the implementation of the Customer Panel as well as the Voice of the

Customer Programmes (VOC). It said she also institutionalized an incentive scheme for the staff= in the Customer Care Division and set up the

Quality Function comprising, the Monitoring, Training, Complaints and Customer Intelligence Units. "With the wealth of experience she brings to us, MTN Ghana has no do= ubt that Jemima will lead her team to

deliver quality and effective customer service for the benefit of our subscribers," said the CEO, Brett Goschen, as

he welcomed Mrs Walsh to the executive team.
