MTN appoints Selorm Adadevoh as new CEO of MTN Ghana

Selorm Adadevoh has been appointed to the position of CEO for MTN Ghana, effective 20th June 2018.

Prior to taking up the MTN Ghana CEO appointment, Selorm was CEO of Digicel Group’s Haitian operation, where he also previously held the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO). Prior to Digicel, he was Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Head of Mobile Financial Services (MFS) for Millicom (Tigo) Ghana.

Selorm brings extensive experience to his new role. Firstly, Selorm started his Telecom career in the UK approximately 20 years ago supporting 3G deployments for major Telecom operators.

Selorm also recently spearheaded the transformation of the most successful Mobile Financial Services product in the Caribbean and this was featured by GSMA in the recently published 2017 State of the Industry Report on Mobile Money. His Consulting experience has seen him advice major FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies on critical business issues in Europe, Latin America, USA and Africa.

A Telecoms and Financial Services professional, Selorm takes over the MTN Ghana reins from former CEO, Ebenezer Asante, who has been acting in the role since his appointment as Vice President for the Southern & East Africa and Ghana -SEAGHA region.

Selorm will be one of the CEOs reporting to Vice President of Southern & East Africa and Ghana region.

In a statement announcing Selorm’s new role, the Chief Executive Officer and Group President, Rob Shutter said, “I wish to thank Ebenezer for juggling both roles over the past few months. Under his guidance, MTN Ghana has become a strong leader in that market and in the Group.”

“As Selorm takes on his new role, I wish him success, and look forward to more bright moments from MTN Ghana,” he added.

Ebenezer Asante also congratulates Selorm on his new role and endears all Ghanaians to embrace and support Selorm as he leads the Ghanaian team to brighten lives.

Selorm Adadevoh is an alumni of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the second Ghanaian to head Ghana’s leading telecommunications company, MTN Ghana.
