MTN Ghana has introduced ‘aYo Recharge with Care’, an insurance product which will offer customers of MTN all the benefits of its insurance packages in a simple and convenient way.

The ‘aYo Recharge with Care’ which is exclusive to Ghana’s biggest network will enable subscribers buy life policy cover up to a maximum of GHC3, 000.00 for a subscriber and one family member and a hospitalization cover of a maximum of GHC50.00 per night for subscriber only, anytime they top up their airtime.

Speaking at the launch of the new product, the Acting Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of MTN Ghana, Noel Ganson noted “The amount of airtime to be deducted as premium is automatically set up at enrolment. The minimum and maximum premiums are set at GHC0.5 and GHC2.00 respectively. This makes it possible for more people to get on board while significantly increasing the insurance penetration of the country which is rather lower than expected.”

He said MTN Ghana’s partnership with aYo is to bring a distinct experience to subscribers of MTN.

He stated insurance is now more than a form of social safety net because it absorbs risks from individuals and ensures stability while promoting economic growth.

“Insurance has become even more relevant in today’s fast-paced world where risks are a part of our daily lives” he added.

Mr Ganson, therefore, advised subscribers of MTN to take advantage of the convenience aYo is giving through its recharge with care insurance and make use of the opportunity.

The policyholder must be a permanent resident of Ghana and 15 to 65 years of age
