Managing Director of Unilever Ghana, Yeo Ziobeieton, led two thousand (2000) school children to brush their teeth at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra on World Oral Health Day 2017.

The MD joined the live demonstration conducted by Dr Puplampu, Vice President of the Ghana Dental Association, who took the multitude of school children, drawn from several schools, through the proper brushing technique. Participants used Pepsodent toothpaste and Pepsodent toothbrushes.

The MD earlier noted that twice brushing was one single and simple action that children and parents alike can take to enhance their oral health.

Several Unilever leaders including Customer Development director, Gladys Amoah, Personal Care customer channel development manager, Yvonne Gyefour, and Homecare Category Manager, Francis Afoani, all mingled with school children to take part in the historic mass brushing exercise, put together by the oral brand team.

World Oral Health day, which falls on March 20 every year, is celebrated globally to raise awareness for oral health.

In Ghana, World Oral Health is celebrated by Ghana’s favourite oral care brand, Pepsodent, together with Ghana Dental Association, Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, Chiefs and opinion leaders, several international partners, and NGOs.

Pepsodent is Unilever’s flagship brand with a long history of running programs with school children.

This year’s celebration was on the theme ‘Live Mouth Smart‘, and it witnessed the launch of Little Brush, Big Brush, a new Pepsodent Facebook campaign to make brushing fun for the entire family.

Ziobeieton, an Ivorian executive, took over management of one of Ghana’s must beloved companies in January 2017, and has been described by coworkers as a man who likes to get involved.

At the end of the event, Mr. Ziobeieton interacted with the excited school children, who were visibly happy to have learnt something new that will promote their oral health. He also interacted with the invited guests and representatives of the Ghana Dental Association, who lauded Pepsodent’s bold leadership in addressing such an important global health situation.
