Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel has today August 30, 2019 launched the ‘Kilo of Kindness’ campaign to support ‘Shelter for Abused children’; an institution run by the Department of Social Welfare which serves as a ‘safe haven’ for underprivileged children.

The initiative which runs as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the hotel, reflects its values and commitment to local communities in which it operates.

Last year, a staggering 610 kilograms of supplies were donated, a figure Mövenpick hopes to surpass with its 2019 campaign.

However, at this year’s edition, guests and visitors were called upon to donate food, clothing and educational supplies to these young needy children.

Human Resource Manager for Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Anna Pearl Nkansah encouraged all guests to join and support the initiative, so collectively, many lives are impacted.

“Every hotel in each country and city is a world on its own and we are encouraged to give back to Society,” she added.

This year more than 50 Mövenpick hotels across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East are supporting the campaign, which runs from 1-15 September. Guests and visitors are invited to drop off at least one kilo of supplies at any participating hotel lobby, which will then be distributed locally by the charities each hotel has partnered with.

Items expected include; books, notebooks and stationery such as pens, pencils, rulers and erasers; canned foods such as tuna, soup, fruit, vegetables and concentrated milk; dry foods like rice, beans, oats, pasta, cereals, flour, powdered milk, baby formula, tea and coffee; and clothing for adults and children.
