The Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to seize his second term as an opportunity to strengthen Ghana’s economy and further stabilise the local currency, the cedi.
Speaking during the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Accra, Duncan-Williams urged the president to leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
“Mr President, within three years, make a difference. Impact this world and change the narrative of Ghana. Let the cedi thrive under your leadership. Let the cedi flourish under your leadership and let things get better and better under your leadership like never before," he said.
He called for the immediate development of a comprehensive national agenda, similar to long-term development plans in countries like China, India, and Dubai, which, according to him, have 100-year national visions that transcend political cycles.
“Ghana, our motherland, is where our vision and agenda are. Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, a national agenda will be established to compel all stakeholders to follow that agenda,” he added.
The National Day of Prayer brought together political leaders, clergy, and civil society groups to intercede for peace, unity, and direction for the nation under the theme of thanksgiving and hope.
