The Ghana Environmental Excellence Awards has crowned Laboma beach Resort as the “most beautiful, cleanest beach resort of the year”.

The award is in recognition of Laboma beach’s contributions to the development of the environment.

Marketing manager of the beach resort, Fatima Braimah said, their company is honoured by the award and has motivated them to do more.

She said keeping the environment clean has been their key focus over the years, so they are very grateful that people have recognized their good work.

Chairman of the Beach Resort, Mr. Daniel Okpoti, dedicated the award to the workers of Laboma Beach Resort and also encouraged them to keep working hard.

He said the main aim of Laboma is to create job for the unemployed youth in this country and also urged Ghanaians to patronize their resort because its currently the ultimate place for relaxation with series of activities such as The Black Rasta Kochoko Festival, lipstick in the sand by Kiki Banson, Laboma nightlife, freedom jam, National beach soccer, wrestling and many more.

Meanwhile, Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo and her predecessor Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong were also honoured for their outstanding environmental leadership achievements.

The award also recognized the roles Members of Parliament, Municipal and District Chief Executives have played in their various communities.

Organizers of the award believe creating a sustainable future for the nation requires a collective effort and bold environmental leadership.

The recognition, for them, is a form of accountability adding that the awardees have capitalized on their unique capabilities to drive environmental progress where politics could not.
