President John Dramani Mahama is set to inaugurate an Accelerated Export Development Council as part of efforts to position Ghana as an export-led economy.

This initiative aligns with his 24-hour economy plan, which aims to boost economic growth and create job opportunities across the country.

President Mahama first announced the initiative during his 2024 New Year address, where he outlined his vision for Ghana’s economic transformation.

He emphasised the critical role of enhancing export activities, particularly within the frameworks of the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
