The Pre-Global Data Festival, organized by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), was held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.

The high-level gathering brought together policymakers, data experts, and development partners under the theme: “Driving Data Innovation, Policy and South–South Collaborations.”

The event served as a strategic precursor to the Global Data Festival, positioning Ghana as a regional leader in data-driven governance and cross-border collaboration.

It aimed to foster dialogue on how emerging economies can harness data for inclusive development, policy reform, and economic resilience.

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was the guest of honour, and delivered a keynote address highlighting Ghana’s recent macroeconomic gains.

Her speech focused on the decline in inflation, the stabilization of the cedi, and the broader implications of these trends for fiscal planning and investor confidence.

The Vice President underscored the role of accurate, timely data in shaping responsive policies and driving sustainable growth across Africa and the Global South.
