The Bank of Ghana is currently holding its 129th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) press briefing to outline key decisions on interest rates and the country’s economic outlook.

The briefing follows the Committee’s second meeting of 2026, where members assessed major economic indicators, including inflation trends, exchange rate stability, and growth prospects.

At its first meeting in January, the MPC announced a reduction in the policy rate from 18% to 15.5%, representing a 2.5 percentage point (250 basis points) cut.

According to the central bank, the move signals a shift in monetary policy and is expected to lower borrowing costs for businesses and households.

Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, will address the media on the next policy direction and its implications for inflation and economic recovery.
