Kumasi Mayor killing our businesses - Market women cry

Some angry traders at Afia Kobi Market, one of the satellite markets within the Kumasi Metropolis have accused the Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi of killing their business since he assumed office.

According to the leadership of the market women, the Mayor always takes decisions without their involvement which has negatively affected their businesses.

“We knew he was going to be helpful to us but he solely take decisions which eventually go against us as traders”, Queen mother of the market, Janet Boama stated.

“Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi has put our business in his pocket”, she accused in an interview with the media after a press conference to vent their anger calling for the Mayor’s head.

“He has taken everything concerning the market as his personal property even security and lightning”, the Queen mother stressed.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) and official spokesperson for Mayor, Godwin Okumah Nyame diffused allegations that his boss is leading a crusade to collapse traders.

According to him, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi has no malice against any individual or trader hence, every allegation against him is false and must be treated with the contempt they deserve.
