Koforidua GCB customers push for a new branch

Koforidua, May 27, GNA - Congestion at the Koforidua branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) that generates numerous complaints from customers, has compelled management to announce the opening of a new branch soon.

The Ghana News Agency (GNA) investigation revealed that the customers, who complained they spent several hours at the bank to transact business, started appealing to the bank authorities about a month ago to open another branch.

They said the situation was so bad that sometimes a customer had to leave his office to spend the whole day at the bank.

Speaking to the GNA, Mr Seth K. Kunutsor, the Area Manager of the bank, said the bank's management shared the customers' sentiments and assured them= that arrangements had been made to immediately put up a new branch in the area.

"I am speaking with confidence that we have made all necessary arrangements and very soon we will build a new branch around the area" he stressed.

He said in the mean time, management was putting in place necessary measures to reduce the congestion, though he noted: 93We have recruited more staff members - we have put up some ATM booths just to reduce the long queue at the bank and yet the problem persists".

Mr Kunutsor entreated customers to continue to bear with the bank as management tried to improve customer service in the bank.
