Koala to market world-class gifts brand names in Ghana

Accra, Sept. 27, GNA - Sheikh Ibrahim Cudjoe Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister, on Tuesday launched a state-of-the-art gift shop in Accra that would market and promote world-class items at competitive prices.

The shop within the premises of Koala Shopping Centre at Osu in Accra, acquires its items from across Europe with high rated brand names such as MONTBLANC, VERSACE, Gucci, PLADA and Tommy Hilfigure. Inaugurating the shop, the Regional Minister lauded the initiative by the Management of Koala and said the Centre over the past few years had truly positioned itself in the grocery business in Ghana. He said Koala was one of the few companies that had taken advantage of the current conducive business environment created by the Government under the golden age of business catchphrase.

Sheikh Quaye said as a country that believed in the development of the private sector, the Government would not hesitate to lend its support to any investor that wished to enter into any venture that would complement economic growth.

Mr Imad Wolley, Managing Director of Koala, said the items, which ranged from perfumes, pens, waist belts and spectacles, cost far cheaper in Ghana than in Europe and elsewhere.

He said the establishment of the shop had made Koala the first Shopping Centre to bring the MONTBLANC brand name to Ghana.
