KLM Wins Airline of the Year Award

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has been honoured by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana(CIMG) for winning the airline of the year at its 13th Annual National Marketing Performance Awards held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines received a plaque, a citation and a certificate as its reward from the CIMG. This is the second time in two consecutive years that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has won the airline of the year award category at the annual CIMG awards.

At the same function, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines presented an Accra-Amsterdam-London-Accra airline ticket valued at ?20,600,000 to Mr. Andrew Kpakpo Mills of the Academy of Business Administration, who was adjudged Marketing student of the year, and would be embarking on an educational tour to the United Kingdom.

In a message to the gathering at the function, the President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, Harrison Kofi Abutiate, noted that the CIMG marketing awards have become the standard by which achievements of all marketing oriented individuals and institutions are measured. Mr. Abutiate stressed that the CIMG intends to continue to improve on these standards.

The 13 Annual CIMG awards, which was addressed severally by the Minister for Private Sector Development, Kwamena Bartels, and the Association of Ghana Industries President, Mrs. Elizabeth Villars, was under the theme 'Marketing an effective tool in forging public and private sector partnership in the golden age of business.'

Twenty individuals and organizations, which had excelled in various fields of marketing in year 2001, were awarded with plaques, citations and certificates.
