KLM To Rescue Ghana Airways ?

THE Executive Vice President of KLM in charge of Commercial Operations, Mr Paul Gregorowitsth, has pledged the Dutch airline?s preparedness to assist the Ghana Airways to overcome its present predicament.

?We are ready to support the Ghana national airline with technical expertise, revenue management and human resource as our contribution to efforts to help the airline to overcome its present problem,? he said.

He said this when he addressed a news conference on the Global Operational Expansion of the KLM in Accra at the weekend.

Mr Gregorowitsth stressed the need for Ghana Airways to modernise its fleet and rebuild its infrastructure to attract capital investment. He attributed KLM?s high performance in the face of global airline recession to its strategy of investing in its employees.

He announced the airline?s plans to build alliance with regional airlines, particularly those in the sub-region, to expand their operations.

Mr Gregorowitsth commended the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) for its vision at making the Kotoka International Airport a gateway and hub to the West African sub-region.

He said the KLM would continue to honour its social commitment in the areas of health, education, and agriculture among others.
