KITE introduces solar products

The Kumasi Institute of Technology, Energy and Environment (KITE), a non-governmental organisation, has introduced solar products on to the Ghanaian market.

Dubbed the Solar way, some of the products include solar powered lanterns with mobile phone charger and FM radio, solar powered candles, solar mobile phone charger and solar powered mobile charging station among others.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, Mr Ishmael Edjekum-Hene, Executive Director of KITE, said the introduction of the affordable solar products is their contribution to ameliorate the ongoing power crisis.

He said all the products that were affordable, were multi-functional and multi-purpose, durable and robust, with a double guarantee.

He said the solar lanterns for instance provide 20-30 hours of bright light which can be fully charged by eight to 12 hours exposure to the sunlight.

He said the Solar way products were built with the Ghanaian in mind hence its durability, adding that all the products also had one year warranty.

Mr Edjekum-Hene said the Solar way products also provide excellent income generating opportunity and urged all to patronise them.
