The Board Chairman of Juaben Rural Bank PLC, Dr Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso I, has issued a strong call to action, urging Ghanaians to cultivate an unwavering savings culture, describing it as the bedrock of personal financial security and long-term economic stability.
He expressed grave concern that despite rapid technological advancement and a booming financial sector, many individuals still choose to keep their hard-earned money at home—hidden under pillows, mattresses, and beds. He warned that such outdated practices expose people to theft and significant financial loss and appealed for an immediate shift toward safer, modern banking methods.
Dr Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso I underscored that saving with a bank offers enhanced security and peace of mind. He explained that financial institutions provide well-structured systems that not only protect deposits but also create opportunities for financial growth.
“Regular savings do more than safeguard income; they provide protection against emergencies, help individuals withstand economic shocks, and lay a solid foundation for future prosperity,” he stated.
The Board Chairman made these remarks during the commissioning of the 12th branch of Juaben Rural Bank PLC at Atonsu Agogo in the Ashanti Region. He encouraged residents to take advantage of the opportunity by opening accounts, saving consistently, and building a strong partnership with the bank to improve their financial well-being.
He further noted that a strong savings culture is not only a personal decision but a critical driver of national development. According to him, increased savings strengthen the banking sector and enable financial institutions to provide credit to businesses, agriculture, and other productive sectors of the economy.
In his address, the Chief Executive Officer of Juaben Rural Bank PLC, Elder Noble Augustine Awere Damoah, expressed appreciation to customers for their loyalty and continuous support, which he described as the foundation of the bank’s steady growth. He pledged improved collaboration and enhanced service delivery as the bank expands its operations.
Elder Damoah also appealed to customers who have benefited from loan facilities to honour their repayment obligations promptly, stressing that timely repayment enables the bank to extend credit to more individuals and businesses, thereby sustaining community economic growth.
He further urged staff of the bank to uphold professionalism, integrity, and a strong customer-focused approach, noting that the success of Juaben Rural Bank PLC depends on the trust and confidence of its customers.
According to the CEO, the commissioning of the Atonsu Agogo branch marks a significant milestone in the bank’s expansion agenda and reaffirms its commitment to promoting financial inclusion, encouraging savings, and driving sustainable economic development across its operational areas.
