Japan gives grants for four projects

The Embassy of Japan under Japan's Grant assistance for grassroots Human Security Projects (GGHSP), has signed grant contracts with four organizations to support them in their various developmental projects.

The Sawla Tuna-Kalba District Assembly jn the Northern Region has received an amount of US$ 75,432 for the construction of mechanized boreholes in the district. The project is expected to provide safe drinking water for communities with a population of 5430.

The Community Development and Empowerment Foundation was a beneficiary of USD$ 74,154 Grant assistance for the construction of the Tosipe Health Centre.

The project is expected to provide a clinic and accommodation for the nurses who will be stationed there. It is expected to benefit over the 7000 population in Tosinape and is environs.

Urbanet,a Non-Governmental Organization based in the Sagnarigu District Assembly,is expected to construct a Shea butter processing centre with a Japanese Grant of USD$ 79,785 .

Another NGO- Grameen Ghana, received a Grant of USD$ 75,505 for a similar project in the construction of a Shea Butter centre at Kpugi in the Gushegu District Assembly.

In a related Grant signing ceremony, CARE Ghana, a globally recognized NGO, benefitted from Grant assistance from His Excellency Ambassador to Ghana from Japan - Mr. Tsutomo Himeno, in the furtherance of its quest to improve the reduction of child mortality, child health, nutrition practices amongst others.

The Government of Japan through the Embassy, over the years, has been giving out Grants assistance to Ghana for basic Human Security Projects across the various regions.
