Japan Motors trains Yamaha Outboard Motor Technicians & Sellers

Japan Motors Trading Company Limited (JMTC), sole agents of Yamaha products in Ghana, has organised a four-day Yamaha Outboard Motor (OBM) training course to refresh and enhance the competence of technical servicemen and sellers of Yamaha Outboard Motors in the Country.

The workshop, which is the basic-1 training of the YMC OBM E40G unit, brought together technicians as well as spare-parts and unit dealers along the coastlines of Ghana including the Central and Western Region such as Prampram, Axim, Komenda, Elmina, Saltpond and Apam, was held in Accra at the JMTC Service Centre.

Mr. Nagaoka Katsuhiko, who was the Technical facilitator for the training course, came from Yamaha Motors Company Ltd (YMC), Japan. Mr. Katsuhiko took participants through the general service and developments that generally centrered on diagnosing the E40G engine of the YBM unit. The course also encompassed instrumentation, measurement of parts and how to use special service tools (SST)

Briefing the media during the opening ceremony, Mr. Mohammed Byrouthy, General Manager After-Sales of JMTC, explained that JMTC identified the need to equip Yamaha technicians and dealers with more knowledge on how to work on the YMC OBM E40G engine so that fishermen who use Yamaha outboard motors will not have difficulty maintaining them.

“Once in a while new technology pops up, and we must impart such knowledge across to these technicians and dealers who are considered our Yamaha partners on the Ghanaian coastline so they can provide quality service and support to our dear fishermen in the country,” he said.

Mr. Byrouthy noted that Japan Motors invests heavily in Yamaha genuine spare-parts so they should insist on such quality products for regular service and maintenance of the OBM units.

On his part, the lead facilitator Mr. Nagaoka Katsuhiko urged participants to adapt well to usage of the special service tools for the Yamaha OBM E40G unit, to enable them perform accurate and professional maintenance and repairs.
