Business magnate and President of the Groupe Nduom conglomerate, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has urged Ghanaian entrepreneurs and business owners to endeavor to fulfil their legal obligation of making the due tax payments to the government but distant themselves from government operation.

According Dr. Nduom governments over the years across the globe have proven to be unsuccessful with running efficient, lucrative and lifelong business, adding that business are better off running independent of governments.

Speaking at the Power Talk series organized at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Accra, Dr. Nduom noted that governments often pursue business which refused to fund their political activities under the guise of invading tax.

‘This is not about NPP or NDC or PPP. If a government doesn’t like you, they usually check if you’ve paid your tax. If you don’t pay they use that as an excuse to grind your operations to a halt. So all entrepreneurs must meet their tax obligations. Pay the government it tax and stay away from them’ Dr. Nduom urged.

Being an entrepreneur or a private business person in Ghana, according to Dr Nduom, has not been an easy path. He stated, ‘We have seen successes and failures just as we have seen attempts to encourage and other times discourage.

Speaking on the theme ‘How to be successful’, Dr. Nduom recounted his humble beginning as entrepreneur and strongly stressed on the need to remain disciplined especially in resource disbursement.

‘As an entrepreneur you must clearly distinguish between your personal resources and that of the company. Don’t use want belongs to the company to satisfy personal needs’ Dr. Nduom Asserted.
