The High Commission of India in Accra, in collaboration with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GNCCI), successfully hosted an India–Ghana Business Conclave with the theme “Expanding India-Ghana Business Synergies for Inclusive Growth” on 11th December 2025 at the Accra Marriott Hotel.

This is the second Business Conclave hosted by the High Commission of India this year ahead of the upcoming meeting of the India-Ghana Joint Trade Committee.

The Conclave brought together senior government officials, captains of industry, business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs from both countries for an engaging dialogue on strengthening bilateral economic and commercial partnerships.

In his opening remarks, the High Commissioner of India, Manish Gupta, emphasised the robust and growing partnership between India and Ghana, noting that bilateral trade has surpassed USD 3.25 billion in the first half of FY 2025–26, putting both countries on track for a record year.

He recalled the elevation of ties to a Comprehensive Partnership during the State Visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to Ghana in July 2025 and the commitment to doubling bilateral trade within five years.

With more than 818 registered Indian projects worth USD 1.92 billion, India remains one of Ghana’s leading investors.

The Government of India generously supports scholarships and capacity-building programmes in various sectors of Ghana’s economy.

The High Commissioner reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to work together with the Government of Ghana in advancing the “Reset Ghana” agenda, which emphasises macroeconomic stability, job creation through a 24-hour economy, and strategic infrastructure development under the big push initiative.

He encouraged Indian and Ghanaian businesses to explore innovative avenues and consider opportunities available beyond traditional bilateral cooperation.

The event was graced by the Hon. Augustus Goosie Tannoh, Presidential Advisor for 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Recalling the special and historical bonds and the multifaceted economic partnership between the two countries, the presidential advisor, in his keynote address, acknowledged the contributions of Ghanaian citizens of Indian origin and long-standing Indian resident entrepreneurs who have made measurable contributions to Ghana’s economy.

Highlighting the business and investment opportunities available under the flagship 24H+ Programme, he encouraged Indian firms to explore opportunities in production facilities, contract manufacturing, and logistics projects.

He also underscored Ghana’s commitment to deepening economic cooperation with India and highlighted priority areas like agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, ICT, infrastructure, SMEs, etc.

He encouraged Indian companies to explore various areas of participation under the 24H+ Programme for inclusive and sustainable growth. Following the address of the Presidential Advisor, Arnold Parker, Lead of Fund 24 of the 24H+ Programme, made a detailed presentation highlighting various aspects of the 24H+ Programme and the investment opportunities available.

Stephane Miezan, the President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), reiterated the association’s support for local and international businesses and the Chamber’s commitment to strengthen the trade, investment and economic partnership between the two countries.



Another important highlight of the Conclave was a very insightful panel discussion on the theme “Expanding India-Ghana Business Synergies for Inclusive Growth” involving eminent panellists – Dr Dominic Dokbilla Naab (Deputy Commissioner, Head of Strategy and Research Dept of the Ghana Revenue Authority), Austin Okere (Founder, CWG Plc and Entrepreneur in Residence & CEO, Ausso Leadership Academy), Dhananjay Tripathi (CEO, Pharmanova and Atlantic Lifesciences Ltd), Ayesha Bedwei Ibe (Tax Leader, PwC Ghana) and Abhra Chatterjee (Business Head, Rice Business Unit, Olam Agri Ghana).

The discussion was moderated by Fatima Alimohamed, CEO at African Band Warrior.

The Conclave concluded with a lively interactive session and a networking segment that facilitated business matchmaking and partnership discussions between Indian and Ghanaian stakeholders.

Over 100 businesspersons from various sectors, senior officers from all leading business chambers in Ghana and other key stakeholders attended the event.

Participants expressed confidence that the Conclave has opened new pathways to diversify and deepen bilateral trade and investment ties, in line with the shared vision of inclusive growth.

The High Commission expressed its appreciation to the Government of Ghana, GNCCI and the business community for their support in making the event a success.

The Conclave reaffirmed the strong commitment of both countries to advancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
