Venomous Vipers win

Cape Coast, Aug. 22 gna- Cape Coast Venomous Vipers survived a 1-0 deficit at first half to beat Nana Apreku Super Rainbow, a second division side, 2-1 in a friendly football match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Thursday.

The visiting team, took command of the game, when the whistle went off and scored the opener through centre forward, Baba Musah in the 10th minute.

Musah, after collecting a midfield pass rounded up two defenders in a row and put the ball at the blind side of the goalkeeper. The early goal unsettled Vipers and all their efforts to cancel the debt yielded no dividends until half time.

The second half saw Vipers on the warpath, pinning Rainbows to their own half for a considerable period of time and in the 65th minute, levelled up matters through Joseph Bentil.

From then on, the game became a ding-dong battle and when all things pointed to a drawn game, inside right of Vipers, Henry Dickson exploited a defensive blunder by the Rainbow boys to score the match winner in the 88th minute. 22 Aug.03
