HFC Bank offers assistance to nine institutions

Accra, Sept. 22, GNA – The management of HFC Bank (Ghana), a leading financial institution on Thursday presented cheques for funds to nine hospitals and benevolent institutions as part of their social corporate social responsibility in Accra.

They included Akuapim Community Foundation, Accident Centre of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana Heart Foundation, National Partnership for Children’s Trust and HelpAge Ghana.

The rest are SOS Ghana, Students Financial Aid Office, University of Ghana, Dworwulu Special School for the Intellectually Challenged and Catholic Action for Street Children.

Presenting the cheques, Mr Akwetey Akita, Executive Director of the bank did not disclose the total amount involved but noted that the Board of Directors and shareholders focused more on the importance of health and educational needs in communities where they operated.

He explained that the presentation was to support the less privileged and needy in society, stressing that formed one per cent of the bank’s profit after tax.

Mrs Rosetta Annan, Executive Director of Akuapim Foundation on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the management for its continued support to educational and health institutions in the country.

She noted that contributions of HFC Bank had contributed immensely in imbibing reading habits into children in the community.

Mrs Annan called on other benevolent institutions to extend a hand to the various groups especially in the area of rehabilitating some dilapidated school buildings and providing computers to enhance the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology courses in schools.
