The Chief Director of the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology (MEST), Suweibah Adam, has paid tribute to her late boss, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, pointing out his unwavering work ethic and dedication to public service.
Speaking at the memorial and reflection night held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, Suweibah Adam said punctuality was the defining trait of the late minister.
“Punctuality was his trademark...he consistently reported to work between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., using the early hours to respond to official emails and critical correspondences before attending to the day’s engagements,” she stated.
According to her, Dr Murtala Mohammed’s commitment to duty left an indelible mark on the Ministry and the nation at large.

The helicopter had departed Accra at 9:12 a.m. en route to Obuasi when it went off radar and could no longer be tracked.
Meanwhile, the helicopter’s flight data recorder, commonly referred to as the “black box,” though it is typically bright orange has been recovered.
The device stores critical flight information and will assist investigators in determining whether the crash was caused by mechanical failure, adverse weather conditions, or human error.
President John Dramani Mahama has announced that a state funeral will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Black Star Square in Accra to honour the eight individuals who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
