Accra, Dec. 4, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Tuesday underlined the Government's determination to work with those with expertise in the oil sector to help the country derive maximum befits from its oilfields.

"We want to engage with those with the know-how and resources", he said, when he granted audience to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Norwegian Company, Aker Kvaener, Mr Martinus Brandal, at the Castle, Osu.

The Company, which is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, currently operates in 30 countries, providing technology and equipment for offshore oil operations.

Its attraction to Ghana follows the substantial oil discovery in deep waters near Cape Three Points.

President Kufuor sought from the CEO, details about the market share of the company in Europe and its ownership, among other things. Mr Brandal said they were in the country to learn more about the oil discovery and how they could contribute and help to stabilise the energy sector.
