Accra, May 12, GNA - Vice President John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday gave assurance to Carghil Ghana Limited, a Cocoa Processing Company, that government would do everything possible to facilitate its activities. "We are all aware of your challenges in electricity and water and we are working round the clock to rectify your situation and facilitate your exports in cocoa products to other countries in the world." Vice President Mahama gave the assurance when a delegation from Carghil Ghana Limited called on him at the Osu Castle, in Accra, to introduce Mr. Kojo Amoo-Godfried, the new Managing Director of the Company to him and to also inform him of the departure of Mr. Leo Winters, the out-going Managing Director.
Mr. Leo Winters, who had managed the company for the past three-and-half years, also introduced Mr. Kojo Amoo-Godfried, incoming Managing Director to the Vice President.
Vice President Mahama expressed satisfaction that within its short operation in the country, the company had been able to penetrate the international market with processed cocoa from Ghana and promised to provide better working relationship with them.
He also commended the Company for appointing a Ghanaian to manage the company as it would fulfil the ambition of government to give special attention to local content. "Although we are aware of water and electricity as some of your challenges, we also appeal to you to let us know other problems you face in the country for us to address them as they come to us." Mr. Leo Winters, Out-going Managing Director, announced that products of the company were accepted in all countries and promised to increase its export. "Many American businesses that we deal with are very happy with our products and we shall increase our produce to meet their demands." he said. 12 May. 10
