The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has urged staff of the Large Taxpayer Office at the VAT House to recommit themselves to discipline, integrity, and professionalism as Ghana works to meet its domestic revenue targets.

During his visit on December 9, 2025, the minister engaged with staff and emphasised that the national revenue target set for the year must be achieved at all costs.

Dr Ato Forson highlighted three major reforms aimed at modernising and strengthening Ghana's tax net in 2026: a redesigned VAT system, the introduction of fiscal electronic devices to improve compliance and transparency, and the launch of a national VAT Reward Scheme to incentivize taxpayers.

He also underscored the importance of performance-based accountability and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the office in meeting its targets.

“I reaffirm my commitment to support their work and remove the obstacles that slow down revenue mobilisation,” he said.

He added, “Together, we will build a revenue system that is modern, fair, and strong enough to drive our agenda of Resetting for Growth, Jobs, and Economic Transformation!”
