Gov’t business grind to a halt as civil servants go on nationwide strike

Government business across the country is reportedly grinding to a halt following the nationwide strike declared by the Civil and Local Government Association of Ghana.

Reports say some district and regional offices have been closed. In some areas skeletal staff are available but no work is being done.

The strike over unpaid single spine premium payments follows a breakdown in talks between CLOGSAG and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.

Government is yet to consider an inter-ministerial committee report which looked into the matter and the workers have vowed to continue their action until their demands are met.
