Gov’t appoints Pricewaterhouse as Transaction Advisor

The Government of Ghana has appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana Limited as Transaction Advisor to assist with the transfer of GoG’s interest in the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (GNGC) to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.

It is also to assist the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) with the successful and effective integration of GNGC.

The transfer of GNGC shares to GNPC as announced by the Minister of Finance, Mr Seth Terkper, in the 2015 Budget Statement is part of Government of Ghana’s efforts to consolidate the upstream and midstream gas sub-sector under a single institution.

A press release signed by the Finance Minister and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the move was to ensure efficiency, increased value creation and sustainable national development.

It said the appointment takes immediate effect.
